Honest second opinion

Been told you need a new boiler? Get an honest second opinion first.

I'll look at your boiler, check what you were told, and give you a straight answer: repair or replace.

Gas Safe registered Plain English, no pressure Local to Bolton
How it works

Three simple steps

No hard sell. Just me, your boiler, and a straight answer.

STEP 1

Send me what you were told

A photo of the report, quote or warning notice, or just tell me on the phone.

STEP 2

I come and look

I check the boiler myself and look at whether what you were told adds up.

STEP 3

You get a straight answer

Repair if it makes sense. Replace only if it genuinely needs it, and I'll tell you why.

What you'll get

Clear answers, not jargon

A plain-English explanation

What's actually wrong, what it means, and what your options are, in words that make sense.

A repair option, if it's sensible

If a repair is a sensible way forward, I'll say so and tell you what it involves.

An honest quote, if replacement is really needed

If it genuinely needs replacing, I'll explain why in plain English and give you a clear quote.

Why I do this

A big decision deserves a second look

  • A new boiler is a lot of money. It's worth being sure.
  • Sometimes a repair will do. Sometimes it won't. I'll tell you which.
  • You deal with me directly, from start to finish.

Great service - totally trustworthy and honest, Chris contradicted previous "visitors" who had recommended a new boiler, and instead confirmed that my existing boiler is pretty good and could quickly be repaired at a fraction of the cost of a new one. He did it there and then, sorted it all out, now I have properly functioning central heating again! Excellent!

Safety always comes first

If your boiler is genuinely unsafe, I'll tell you that too.

An “At Risk” or “Immediately Dangerous” warning label is there for your safety and must not be ignored. A second opinion is about whether replacement is really the only option, never about overriding a safety warning. Keep the appliance off as advised until it has been put right.
