Is the new boiler going in the same place?

Keeping it where it is means the gas, water and flue connections are already there.

Where to?

The further the boiler moves, the more gas, water, condensate and flue pipe has to be run to the new spot.

Keep your cylinder, or switch to a combi?

A combi heats water as you use it, so the cylinder and loft tanks can come out. It suits most homes with one bathroom. With two bathrooms in use at once, a cylinder can still be the better choice, and I'll tell you which I'd recommend.

Where does your flue come out?

The flue is the pipe that takes the fumes outside. Look outside the house, or up at the ceiling above the boiler.

A bit more about the roof flue

A roof flue usually goes straight up through the ceiling and roof above the boiler.

Is there a drain or sink waste near the boiler?

A new boiler makes a little water (condensate) that has to run to a drain, a sink waste or a soil pipe.

Roughly how far is the gas meter from the boiler? i

The meter is usually in a box outside, under the stairs or in a kitchen cupboard.
